Spain day one!( the art of getting lost while traveling)

Spain is a great country I always wanted to go to.

And after all the hassle I got over the British visa during the summer for the last three years.

I decided am not going to even apply for a British visa and instead decided I will get a Schengen and go spend some time alone in sunny Spain. But for sure my amazing British husband thought it was a great idea to meet up specially that he always wanted to see the real Spain.

So after a lot of bookings and messages between me and the hotels everything was set and I got my visa a day before we leave Azerbaijan. Only to realize I will be away from my mom in Egypt for another month and to be honest I was always thinking I won't handle being lone for 3 weeks till my husband meets me in Malaga on the 22nd.

So again I made changes in my bookings and went to Egypt on the 30th of June to see my mom and then will go to Malaga on the 22nd to meet my husband.

After along time waiting I was finally in the airport in Malaga looking for my husband as he was supposed to arrive 3 hours before me from England and meet me at the airport.

But unfortunately as my husband is a genuine English man. He went out the last night before his flight with his sun and his girlfriend to the pub and thought that maybe he should go and have some sleep at the airport so he wouldn't miss the flight ( as it happened before when he was meeting me in Prague at the new year's eve)

So he went to the airport fell asleep and YES, missed his flight to Malaga and had to take another one 24 hours later .

So here I am standing at the airport by myself calling him to check he is still alive. And trying not to get mad and enjoy my first day in SPAIN!

After asking a deep breath and calling Pilar my Spanish friend to tell her I arrived. I hopped in to a taxi to get to the hotel. (Usually I will find a bus to get to city center, but I wasn't really in the mood knowing that my husband is still in Liverpool)

So I settled in the hotel which is a nice hotel called Zenit Malaga near the city enter and the water front.

Then I decided to have a stroll in the city of Malaga.

I put on makeup and a nice outfit and went out geared only with a hat and a debit card.

Went along a road called plaza Del La Victoria to find myself down town it was hot so they has a siesta afternoon sleeping time.

So I found myself a nice Sushi place (don't judge for not having Spanish food I needed my sushi to keep up the spirit)

Walked around the Al Kazaba and finally decided it was too hot for me to be lost. So I turned on my GPS and tried to find the way back home when I stumbled upon the Cervantes theatre where they had (Guess what?) Yes, MammaMia musical in Spanish! So I got in got myself a first row seat in the Ten O'clock show and went straight home to figure out what to do till then as the sun only goes down at 9:40 PM!

My solo surviving kit!

Someone is going to pay for missing their flight! Mini bar, here I come!

Not so solo

when i started chasing my dream of being a fashion designer three years ago i had no idea how far it's going to take me away from what I've planned.

a solo female traveler went to away from home with only 240 dollars and a dream to have a better future.

now after three years, three different jobs and traveling to more than 12 countries am as far as i was from my dream job when i started.

Am Married , and back to Egypt with no job . But i have my dream and so many stamps on my passport and a very supportive family and lots of life adventures and experience.

why is my blog's name is (Not so solo)?

well, i always wanted to travel on my own but i ended up having a partner .

Yes i drive him nuts, and Yes, he makes me furious . but he also wanted to be a solo traveler before ending up with me . Luck? i don't think so.

Fate? Maybe

but some how being together is being solo with a best compromise ever. we understand each other. we love being together and we basically have the same taste in EVERYTHING!. well, ALMOST everything.

and while i am getting over my abandonment fear and daddy issues i still am trying to chase the dream and the visas.

being an Egyptian girl who is married to a British man is not exactly the perfect marriage or situation my society would be OK with. but with little bit of love and A LOT of support from family it couldn't be better.

and although i have traveled a lot . the British visa system still reject my visa every single time so my plan is to wear them down one rejection at a time .and maybe one day i will actually meet my in-laws FACE TO FACE!

so to sum it up. fashion designing , traveling, and maybe marriage as well

That's it .
